About The Blogger
CR Jordan has been tattooing since June 2000, but (regretfully) not on a consistent basis. In 2001 He joined the Army and was stationed in Germany, where he apprenticed under Sven Bohmer in Wiesbaden for 2 years. He moved to Hawaii and tattooed, but only in between deployments to the Middle East with the Army Reserves. In 2009 he authored “Basic Fundamentals of Modern Tattoo” while on a deployment to Iraq. CR Jordan returned to Phoenix Arizona for a short stint and tattooed at Glendale’s Top Rocker Tattoo before heading off to Afghanistan to support the Marine Corp. (2010) He is currently finishing up the book “The Advanced Tattoo Apprentice” and hopes to have it on the shelves before 2011. When he is unable to tattoo, Jordan is writing about tattoo and trying to improve not only his own craft – but that of every new artist in the industry.
Jordan holds a degree in Graphic Design and Information Science, and uses those skills to meld the modern technology of the internet and the tattoo industry. He is a member of numerous tattoo organizations and believes that tattoo should be made available to anyone who wants to learn – but he is still a strong proponent of the Tattoo Apprenticeship. Some of his current works in progress include Tattoo Flash interactive Kiosks for tattoo studios, Online Tattoo Encyclopedia, ultra-light plastic injected mold coil tattoo machines, tattoo instructional DVDs, and obviously instructional tattoo books. Jordan is also working on a video documentary detailing the lives and skills of tattoo artists in the state of Arizona. Even while deployed to Afghanistan he is constantly preparing for what little time he has back in the USA to execute these projects.
This website was created with the Tattoo Apprentice in mind in hopes of sharing information about the tattoo industry and lessons learned in a Blog style format.
